SantaCon 2010 in NYC: Santas Parade in Different Costumes

Two more weeks and it’s Christmas Day already. A lot of Christmas parties are going on right now as Christmas Day approaches. Gift giving is also rampant and so the images of Santa Claus in various Christmas celebrations around the world.

For those who are fans of Santa Claus, SantaCon, the mass gathering of Santa Claus costumes parading publicly on streets and in bars around the world is ideal to watch. Participants wear various Santa Claus costumes in different themes. SantaCon is also known as Naughty Santas, Cheapsuit Santas, Santarchy, Santapalooza, and Santa Rampage.

In New York City (NYC), this year’s SantaCon 2010 will start today, December 11, 2010 at 10am. Expect holiday cheer, unconventional gifts, naughty carols and general mayhem. Do not expect to be entertained because Santa IS the entertainment! If you want to participate as a Santa, take note that Santa doesn’t just wear a cool suit but also brings gifts! A gift can be a reindeer game, a song, a dance or a joke to entertain Santa and tourists alike. Be sure also that you wear comfortable shoes and clothes as the whole SantaCon 2010 will involve a lot of walking activities.
